Formal training began as an early teen at Pittsburgh's Carnegie Museum of Art program for talented youth. One-on-one instruction followed during an active business career.

For the last decade, without interruption, the award winning artist has trained at the Silvermine Art Guild in New Canaan, Connecticut. There he continues advanced studies under the direction of the highly regarded colorist Kirill Doron.

Other current tutorials include; periodic workshops with several acclaimed artist/teachers including renowned marine artists Donald Demers and Joseph McGurl.

In 2009 he received an honorary Associate Artist Membership in Boston's prestigious Copley Society of Art, the country's oldest art association.

The artist participates in numerous juried and open art exhibitions and has had a number of one man shows. Works can be commissioned and are sold online, in selective galleries, and through an artist's agent.
